Hundredfold Farms is, to our knowledge, the only constructed ecovillage in Pennsylvania (so far!). Here are some chances to see some beautiful countryside and a fantastic community near Gettysburg. Theirs is a very rural setting, much different from ours; demonstrating that caring for our planet can look very different.
Please mark your calendars, they have several events coming up this summer.
Every Day Is Earth Day At Hundredfold Farm – June 19th, 2010
This coming Saturday the Hundredfold Farm Cohousing Community will be open for tours, and you’re invited. There has been a lot of site work and house building going on since our last open house, and we figured it was time to open our doors again. So if you haven’t been up to visit, or it has been some time since you were last up, we’re hoping you’ll have the time to stop on by this coming Saturday.
The schedule for the day is:
* 10AM – 1PM: Tours of several of our solar homes, as well as a walk through of our unique wetland-based wastewater treatment and water recycling facility.
* 11AM – 12PM: Master Gardener presentation at our community garden. The topic will be “Cover crops and other methods for enriching your organic garden.”
As always you’re welcome to walk our fields and wooded trails if you’d like to get away for a while. We also suggest bringing a picnic lunch. We’ll be providing various beverages.
“Every Day Is Earth Day At Hundredfold Farm” is open to the public. So please feel free to bring along your family and friends. We do ask that you RSVP to info@hundredfoldfarm.org as soon as possible so we’ll have a rough head count prior to Saturday. Additional Hundredfold information, including driving directions, can be found at www.hundredfoldfarm.org

10-10 Celebration – July 10th, 2010
On July 10th we’ll be celebrating not only our 10th year as a community, but also the completion of our 10th home. Come join us for this invitation only event. Not only will we be opening up our new “Cottage” home for tours, we also want to say thank you to all the folks who over the years have helped make the dream of Hundredfold Farm a reality. Keep an eye on our website (www.hundredfoldfarm.org) for the latest information and updates on this event.
